Shisha

Shisha is the internationally acclaimed agency for contemporary South Asian crafts and visual arts. Their work is all about dynamically engaging with people across cultures, and you will probably be most familiar with their flagship project, Asia Triennial Manchester.

Wonder were tasked to design and develop the new Shisha website. The site was to be highly focused on rich media, allowing the team at Shisha to bring to life their publications, events, news and exhibitions  using beautiful images and media from their work. We spoke to Fareda Khan, Deputy Director of Shisha for her view on working with Wonder and the MIYO Content Management System:

What is it like working with Wonder?

Wonder is a professional, committed and responsive agency - the team has bounds of creativity and possess the thinking to back up the ideas. The ongoing support is exemplary - they are flexible, approachable and extremely dedicated. They are an absolute pleasure to work with!

How would you describe the website design?

The website is contemporary, bold and easy to navigate. The design has an aesthetic that works well with Shisha's vision and we are already receiving very positive feedback.

Why did you choose MIYO?

We felt MIYO would manage our content requirements the best and had the right balance of structure and flexibility. It has the affordability of open source software but is totally bespoke and is intuitive and accessible.

How does MIYO compare with other CMS?

From what we are aware of open source CMS, MIYO offers far greater flexibility. Compared with the other CMS Shisha has used, MIYO manages the content more creatively and logically - making it much more user-friendly.

What do you like most about MIYO?

It is intuitive and flexible and can be customised by Wonder to suit the client's needs ensuring that is it is future-proofed. Specifically, we like how it manages images and credits, and ensures design consistency throughout.
